Keeping this going is not easy lately, it is not as easy as some may think to migrate from one computer to another, let alone from one server to another, and yet I have made the shift myself. Coming back to the old laptop and working with all the old programs is getting harder and harder to do. It pains me deeply to forsake the website, I don't know what to do? Anyway here's another offering from down under, of Oriental Bay in the sunshine. Not that she would be reading this but, hello to Meekakitty (Tessa) you ARE so adorable, but I worry about you, unfounded concern probably, it is just the intense exposure that is thrown at some young people these days on the internet, I'm Just Sayin! Well it is bitterly cold here in New Zealand and blowing all the time and I feel un enthusiastic about everything... I ask myself, what is it exactly that I am meant to be achieving? Happiness? Children? Money? World saving inventions... Ah heck I don't know, no one is talking unless they are trying to sell something, and we wonder why we end up with large and little fights everywhere. Well I believe in the mystery, the magic, I believe we are full of wonder and have a special ability to make things beautiful, but I'm not sure I was meant for this world :( When people will only take you as they think you are, and insist on being blind to who you really are it gets pretty tiresome and verges on offensive, but they like living in their illusions (they think so anyway, they are just scared or something) :P

It's been a while, and it is not for the want of trying but I am finding it impossible to migrate my database to my new PC :( The latest problem being that the DB was made in Access 97 and I am trying to open it in Access 2007! It is like a completely different program, one that seems like a stranger to me. I wonder how long humankind would continue to delve into the cold land of Computer Code if it wern't for the money there is to be made? Consequently I feel application developers often have only a half hearted intent to really continue the legacy of developers that have gone before them, and often are intent on wrapping the same functionality in bright new interfaces that are designed to entice dollars out of peoples pockets. Good to see the sun a bit more, Tweet tweet to all the bird lovers out there! :)

Congrats England Cricket :) Sorted issue caused by changing my naming convention for images (I think), which is a big step towards getting back to some kind of workflow with the 5D MKII. It feels like I have been locked out from my camera (apart from the occasional crumbs) for quite awhile now! The faulty Seagate hard drive was a stealthy problem, but now it has been replaced the computer is working, I am running on trial version of Adobe Photoshop CS4 (will purchase v soon). Now I just need to get back to taking pictures and finally getting fully familiar with my camera! To not get frustrated with this world you would have to have the patience of a saint, and a saint I am not, but I am a hopeful soul...

Where does the time go? I think it slips by in the valleys between the waves when we are regaining our equalibrium from the roller coaster rides of the crest... Spammers thwarted! Hurray for cats :) Hope you like the grasses, they are last summers.

There are new pictures!!! :) Well I did manage to get a TV on Saturday in the end, but Andy Murray didn't manage to make it through, it was the other Andy (Andy Roddick) that I got to watch playing Rodger Federer, and he did extremely well! I think his tennis playing has matured somewhat, or was it the struggle he had to get into the final that honed his skills (both!), but he really put Federer to the test on Sunday. I sincerely hope he succeeds in getting his name on that trophy in the years to come. Congrats to Rodger Federer, you are a gentleman and great sportsman, and your skill and talent make you a joy to watch, it is nice to see you tested though, it brings out the true man I believe. All in all Tennis and sportsmanship were the biggest winners of the day, and that is how it should be :) /waves to Dinah and Pat! :)

Yay here I am again, with some new pictures and a new picture of the week! Go Andy Murray, Go Go Go. Nothing against Andy Roddick, I like him, but I guess I feel more kinship with a Scotsman than I do for an American. It may well be all over as I write this, I know it is a very close game, but unfortunately at the moment I have no working TV to watch the game on :( I had planned on sorting that tomorrow but it's so late now, oh well :) /Wave to noone in particular.

I can see this time of the year is not conducive to getting round to changing pictures of the week (hah!), nevermind. Hope the weather holds for Wimbledon! May be more pictures in nearish future! ;)

I can't understand people that will take something that is innocent like my website and foul it with Advertisements for Drugs! It drives me crazy and makes me unbelievably annoyed and sad, but I have removed my previous comments because they are excessive. I will get a new picture of the week soon I promise :)

Getting back to my tardy ways with the picture of the week, but it is difficult considering I have to go to my old laptop everytime I want to do anything with any images, thanks to the fact that Photoshop cs2 won't work on Vista (operating system of my new computer that I bought to do all this stuff!). I feel such a fool, but I think it is not fair that I should take the blame when all Microsoft and Adobe can think of is raking more and more money from people like myself, I think something here is shameful, but in this day and age, it is the norm. Slowly getting used to being back from down south, it is a bit like sensory depravation when you come back from an exciteing get away, oh well life goes on :)

Cricket, and the BlackCaps Vs India have fired up the passion that I have for the game. Sachin Tendulkar is most certainly a living legend and it is an honour to see him bat, indeed it is fantastic to see our Black Caps playing India! As for the Black Caps batting performance, Brendan McCullum and Jesse Ryder got off to a flyer (Brendan McCullum you are one of my biggest heroes mate!!!) it is just a shame it ended the way it did, but you built the foundations alrighty. I would say to the middle order to stop stiffling your raw talent with the idea that you know what you are doing, because even the MOST learned have failiures, but only the truly talented have exceptional innings. Tail end, Butler, Southee, Mills, fantastic, you guys show just what I am saying to the middle order, you finished firing up my passion with your spirited glimpse of hope and refusal to accept defeat lying down, good on you!!! :)

I have added more pictures including pictures of the Mountain Bike Event in Levin 2 weeks ago. The new Picture of the week is from that sunday. I have put some hard thought into making sub categories and have ideas now but implemeting them is going to be a biggish job so I have not made a start yet, even though it becomes more and more needed. I need to address some sorting issues first I think (the work never ends for a webmaster (though sometimes I wonder who is the master, me or the site))... Well, the latest pictures from Wanganui Cemetery Circuit are up! I need to add groups to the categories so that I can separate 2007 from 2008 races (not to mention the yachts from the motorbikes), it is not as simple as it sounds, and I have known I would have to do this eventually but I have not completely figured out how to do it 'just right' yet, so I might have to go for functional in the meantime ;) Then I need to figure out adding passwords to some places. Oh and how to show video, since the new camera I have bought (Canon EOS 5D MKII) makes HD video that my current computer will not play because the files are so darned large... Anyway, that is all in the pipeline for the future. All the best to you all out there :)

Hello... Well it's been awhile. Hi to Collin and his surfing buddy. First I should say that there is now a link to the map page in 'Categories' (incase you have not seen it), it has been there for awhile but I forgot to mention it here. I guess that is the first and last thing really, apart from a new 'Picture of the Week'. Cheery :)

Summer weather is upon us here in New Zealand, the days are getting longer and the heater can move into storage (hmm time to be thinking about firewood). I don't know what the flowers are for this 'Weeks Picture', but they are a lovely colour and the Bumble Bees like them :)

An older picture for home page. I'm doing quite well keeping the picture of the week updated lately :) State of play with the map page is it is close, I just need inspiration to grab me about how to call the page, then it will go live... Congratulations to the National party who are now the government of New Zealand, and a huge thank you to Helen Clarke who has been a great prime minister for the last 9 years, thank you, you did an awesome job. Hopefully National will not be doing anything rash, we are in your hands now, I am quietly hopeful :)

Woohoo, a new picture on the home page, I like the way it looks to, much brighter than the one of Birds Beach Rd. You can turn the categories upside down now, and sort categories by 'Date of Inclusion' aswell as 'Date of Capture' also. Some new buttons even, well revamped old buttons ;) but they have learnt new tricks now!

There has been afew minor changes some of which are not finished yet, but apart from the 'Sort Order' buttons on the 'Category_Grab' page, everything is functioning as it should be, probably... G'nite :)

New picture of the Week, afew new pictures, the map page is not live yet, I have been experiencing problems viewing the satellite images so it has all gone on hold for the moment, ho hum. Hoping November is a great month for you all! :)

Well I have been slaving over a hot keyboard and getting KeyBoard face from nodding off at said keyboard trying to figure out Google maps with this result. I wish the map would not keep returning to it original center and zoom when you hit the back button or click the picture... 18 more added to 'Travels North - Spring 2005' and now I think it is complete! I mean I took literally thousands of pictures but I am content now. Next step would be to journey around the South Island, which I will be doing next year, hopefully I will get some good pictures then :)

While I was messing round with Google earth tracking my route of 'Spring 2005' and adding markers to it for all the pictures in pictures-of-paradise I realised there were definate gaps! I have added 19 more to the category and there are 17 more to add, which will get there very soon. Interesting stuff from Waitangi, thought provoking I think. I was there 3 years ago, but to think about the people that were there 168 years ago, and how important those people were to our little country of New Zealand...

Hello hello :) There's a new category 'Piano Get Together', just a family and friends thing really, but if you are reading this then you probly qualify as a friend! Putting pictures onto a map is moving along, I can't get Java script to interact with PHP to get the longitudes and latitudes from the Database yet, but in the mean time I will just do it longhand and see how it goes. 35 (I think) new pictures, most of which are the completion of the 'Spring 2005 Travel North' I hope you enjoy them. My current favourite listening is a band called 'Dream Theater', some wonderful stuff there, I strongly recommend them. Best wishes to you all :)

Another not so quick note! Contact button seems to work again and some changes I made while trying to fix it have shown up, so I am wondering if changes made to it are not reflected in it right away since it actually downloads stuff from macromedia.com to work anyway. I have made changes and will leave it to see if they take effect later :)

Quick note! It has come to my attention that the Contact button is totally not working now :( I will get on to it soon, grrr. :)

If you use the 'Contact' form, YOU MUST enter something (anything!) in the 'Email' box otherwise it will not work! I need help on it I think, it is so convoluted :| Added a button to the top of the 'Categories Page' to list images in the order they were added, thus making it easy to see newly added pictures :) Fixed a problem with the navigation buttons on the 'ImageDisplay Page', Woohoo!!! I think everything is working, and if I'm wrong I don't want to know right now! ;)

Hello :) I think the 'Weeks Pics' category thing is working like I want it now (yay), Next I want a category of 'Newly Added Pics' so the old friends visiting can check them out more easily. Added another 17 pictures and sadly the Cicadas' are replaced aswell (that is maybe the first truly 'weekly picture'!).
For some reason the server (I think it is) is replacing some apostrophies with questionmarks, and all the news lines following the link to Jeffs website still change colour when the cursor moves over them, oh well never mind lol, bye for now :)

I am in the process of adding a 'Weeks Pics' category, it is not finished yet, but it is working as it is pretty well, so happy happy :P

AND I thought I would put a plug in for my cousins ex, he has a rich sense of humour and also has a PHD in the history of Christian Religion and he sings about it all! If you are deeply sensitive about these things then maybe this is not for you but otherwise I heartily recommend going to Jeffs Website and listening and watching some of his works! :)
